Route |
Start at the Untere Valentinalm and run about 2.5 km west to the Obere Valentinalm. From there, continue to the “Heiderstein”, a large rock with a memorial plaque, then turn left into the high valley below the rock walls of the Kellerwand to the Valentintörl. From there, follow the Carnic High Trail KHW 403 to the left, through the gully and over a short steep ascent (approx. 720 m) to the summit of the Rauchkofel. Halfway back, take the turnoff to the Wolayersee Hütte and after about 1.3 km run along the shore of the lake to the Valentintörl (approx. 1.25 km). From there, take the same path back to the Untere Valentinalm (approx. 5 km). |

From the summit of the Rauchkofel you can also run back the same way you came and skip the detour to the Wolayersee Hütte. |
