Route |
Start at the hotels on Nassfeld and run west along the ski slope for approx. 1.7 km to the mountain station of the Madritschen chair lift. Already on this section you have to cover about 400 positive meters in altitude. Between the mountain stations of the Madritschen and Millennium Express cable cars, you then run approx. 1.5 km downhill along the ski slope, before following a gravel path towards the Rudnig Alm shortly before a reservoir (approx. 2 km). While the gravel path rises slightly to the Rudnig Alm, from there it goes downhill for approx. 2.5 km in the direction of the Tröpolacher Alm (offering food and drink). Past the Tröpolacher Alm, follow the trail in the forest for approx. 3.5 km to the Rattendorfer Alm (offering food and drink). At the end of a left-hand bend after the Rattendorfer Alm (approx. 150 m), turn south and begin a steep climb around the Zottachkopf on its western flank. After about 2.5 km you have completed the longest ascent of the route. Behind the Zottachkopf, the trail now turns from south to east and towards Trogkofel/Creta di Aip, which is circumnavigated to the south (approx. 1.3 km). The view to the south on the traverse below the Trogkofel/Creta di Aip is one of the scenic highlights of the route. You then pass the Rudnigsattel/Sella di Aip before continuing eastwards on a single trail to the reservoir below the Madritschen/Monte Madrizze (approx. 2.5 km). Directly before the reservoir, the terrain becomes more technically demanding. After the reservoir, you come back to the mountain stations of the Madritschen and Millennium Express cable cars. Then you run down the ski slope back to the start (approx. 1.7 km). |
